Waxing
Waxing is the best choice for hair removal, as it will leave you smooth for weeks. Hair takes longer to grow back compared to shaving, and once it does grow back, hair is super soft and sparse. We carry several different wax formulas to assure that there is something for every different skin type and sensitivity. Waxing can be done anywhere from your eyebrows down to your toes.
Doesn’t that hurt?
Look, it’s no secret, television and film have portrayed getting waxed to be so incredibly painful that it’s actually comical.
If you’re still particularly concerned about the pain, or just have excessively sensitive skin, we understand. We offer a numbing cream that many customers absolutely swear by. Just purchase in-shop and apply 45-minutes prior to your waxing service.

The Benefits
Slower Hair Growth
With traditional shaving techniques, you’ll start to see hair growth returning in a matter of days, with waxing, that date can be pushed back to weeks.
Can Be Gentler on Skin
The friction of a razor across the skin combined with how often shaving is needed can lead to rashes, hyper-pigmentation, or other forms of irritation. Waxing is a gentle form of exfoliation resulting in little to no irritation and smoothness that can last for weeks.
Fewer, Finer, Softer
Hairs shaved with razors grow back quickly and, they’re sharp and stubbly upon return. With waxing, hair is actually removed entirely from the follicle resulting in fewer, thinner, and softer hair.
Prepping For Your Wax

Grow It Out
Yes, a little bit of prep work is recommended to get your best waxing experience. First, you’ll need to grow it out. To get the cleanest wax, hair must be the appropriate length of at least 1/4″, or about the length of a grain of rice. Usually this can be accomplished in about 2-3 weeks of no shaving. I highly recommend to grow your hair out as long as possible, with no trimming, the longer the better!
Exfoliate
Ideally, you will need to safely exfoliate the area 24-hours before your waxing service. Gently using a scrub, exfoliating mitt or dry brush can be great ways to do this.
Exfoliating the skin will help bring out all of the hairs so that they can all be removed for a cleaner wax.
Aftercare
Take it Easy
To have the best results with the least irritation possible, you will need to keep the skin as clean as possible. You will want to avoid these activities for the next 24-48 hours after your wax:
- Extreme Heat
- Swimming
- Tight-Fitting Clothing
- Excessive Sweating
- Deodorant
Avoid Ingrown Hairs
A build-up of dead skin can prevent hairs from pushing through the skin, causing them to grow to the side, or back down into the skin, these are called ingrown hairs, and they can be painful and unsightly.
To reduce the risk of developing ingrown hairs, removing the dead skin via exfoliation is essential. Most times, exfoliation alone is enough to avoid ingrown hairs entirely, however, some people can be more prone to ingrown hairs than others, in this case, a special serum is recommended, you can purchase or pickup a sample of the product at the salon.

Avoiding Breakouts
Avoiding sweating, and tight-fitting clothing over the waxed area is the best way to prevent a breakout. For most, these precautions are enough, however, some may need more help. In this case, we carry an anti-bacterial skin cleanser available for purchase at the shop. This helps prevent, slow, or stop any breakouts on the body (not just wax-related).
Skin Hydration
With exfoliating and waxing, we always want to add hydration back into the skin. This is essential also in your home car regimen. For the body, I recommend any lightweight body lotion, but for the bikini area a specialized moisturizer is necessary. We carry Fur Oil, it is specifically designed to moisturize the bikini area, and also helps prevent ingrown hairs and skin irritation. You can purchase or pick up a sample of the product at the salon.
